How do you get special badges on steam? ›

Collect all the trading cards (typically 10, but can be more or less depending on the event) to craft the sale badge. This special badge can be crafted an unlimited number of times during the sale resulting in exponential profile XP.

In addition to the 5 levels of the standard badge, each trading card set has a foil badge. You earn the foil badge by completing a set of foil versions of the cards for that set. Foil cards are rarer than the standard cards, and thus the foil badge is much more difficult and expensive to obtain.

Steam Trading Cards are virtual cards, earned by buying and playing games on Steam, that can be crafted into badges that grant rewards. Collect a set of cards to earn items that help you customize your profile and show off your gameplay.

A badge is a small icon found in the top-right corner of your Steam Community profile. They recognize your membership, community contributions, and game involvement. There's a 1% chance to get a foil card instead of a regular card. A full set of these special cards can be used to craft a rare Foil badge.
