The Bernardo thing is pretty sad. He had one of the best seasons I’ve ever seen from a City player and yet it’s starting to look more and more likely that it was a one season wonder. He was never the same after that Mendy tweet incident but you’d expect a top player to have gotten over that mentally by now.

Agreed, but that twitter nonsense was nothing to do with his dramatic loss of form.

Changes will have to be done sensibly in terms of numbers being replaced in one window, else we will seriously be looking at a transition period

Yeah, fair point.Probably the next summer window will see the others replaced,we'll know far more about our academy prospects then too..

This lot needs shifting over to the Transfer thread maybe?

I just think he is fighting for the same on field space as our other players,so while he is being played in an unnatural role or being left on the bench,we will never get the best out of him.

He deserves a club that will build around him.

What do you think it was down to?

As said, maybe is just a one season wonder, that special season took a lot out of him mentally and physically, he looks like he has never recovered.

Maybe this league and the amount of games is simply too much for him?

Compounded? Jeez!

That much learning that no one knows what system Pep wants. Our players look confused half of the time. I don't even think Pep knows what to do when his tic tacs aren't going to plan.

Yes, we know from the first season that players take time, they said it themselves. If you took time to read the books by Marti Perarnau you would know that Pep plans the tactics for each game meticulously, he spends hours watching video and analysis of opponents he then consults his "bible" to check his tactics. To suggest that a) he doesn't know what to do and B) that his teams play tic tac is frankly nonsense The issue for me is the players, for whatever reason they are not performing its not Pep's fault that players like KDB cant hit the target from 12yds, that they failed to convert very good chances, make rash challenges in the penalty area. He's tightened the defense, made a good signing in Diaz and got Stones playing again Hes accepted the challenge of re-building by signing the contract. Yes, he does strange thing and I'm the first to criticize him during games but, in the cold light of day I think he's earned the right for patience

On Bernardo he replaced KDB when the latter missed a majority of the season with injury, Bernardo was simply magnificent to the point where we never missed a player of the calibre of KDB.

The drop off in terms of form is incredible and very sad, he seems a great guy and seems to genuinely like the club.

I assumed the same bud, but they have identified a direct replacement already and they know there may still a market for him in Spain.

Pep also said he would never sell Bernie, but it seems there are a few players that they are changing minds over.

I'd be sad to see Bernie go and actually suspect two midfielders in Zakaria and Grealish.

I’d much rather keep Bernie and not get Grealish.

Obviously a very talented footballer but his off field antics make me worry he’ll be one of those players that gets a big pay day and falls off even more.

Its Txiki Begiristian who needs to be f*cked off. He has absolutely insane obsession spending absolutely sh*tloads of cash on back up players. Use that cash to build much better first XI, if you back ups are not as good then so be it.

id put the blame on pep more than tiki for this .
